IXL gives me the flexibility to supplement my teaching with practice that is directly aligned with what we're doing. IXL is like my classroom assistant, providing each student with the individualized practice they need so I can focus on building my curriculum and working with students one-on-one.
IXL by nature is very engaging. With workbooks, they don't really care about what they are learning. It's just an exercise to go through, whether you need it or not. But with IXL, they can focus in on exactly what they need and get personalized help if they are struggling. They're no longer just students. They're learners.
Using IXL has helped me learn and master different skills. It gives me confidence each time I move to the next level. I have improved on all my tests since I have been using it.
Math can be scary for those who don't think they are very good at it. But IXL puts my students in charge of their learning. They can work on skills on grade level, above, or below. They get a real sense of accomplishment when they master new skills and earn rewards. It has not only helped them master specific skills, but has really given them confidence in their math abilities.
My children have always been homeschooled and IXL serves as the basis for our math curriculum, to make sure we are studying everything required for each level. I find it easier to check on progress than having to check worksheets or a workbook. They love the explanations that show them what went wrong! It makes learning so much easier
